About Membership
Active Members/Organizations
Every fire protection district, municipal fire department, or private fire department, whether at the community, township, county, state or federal level, that is primarily in fire prevention, inspection, investigation and protection, complying with the Constitution and By-Laws of this Association is eligible for Active Membership, subject to the approval of a simple majority of the members present upon application for membership at a meeting.
Active membership (by organization, not individuals)

May attend all meetings and functions

Is eligible to vote or hold office

May serve on or chair a committee
Associate Members
Any organization, partnership, corporation, and association interested in fire safety, and complying with the Constitution and By-Laws of this Association is eligible for Associate Membership, subject to the approval of a simple majority of the members present upon application for membership at a meeting.
An Associate Member:

May attend all meetings and functions.

Is eligible to vote or hold office of directorship

Is eligible to hold the office of Treasurer or Secretary

May serve on or chair a committee

Honorary Members
Every person who is retired, or honorably separated from an active or associate member organization, who is interested in fire safety and complying with the Constitution/By-Laws of the Association is eligible for Honorary Membership subject to the approval of a simple majority of members present upon application for membership at a meeting. An Honorary Member shall be exempted from and collection of dues or assessments.
An Honorary Member:

May attend all meetings and functions.
